HCC Ideas Pitch Competition – Enter by May 21 – 1st Place $1,000

Share and pitch your social innovation.

This competition is designed to explore innovative approaches to answering pressing societal needs and to spark an atmosphere of social dialogue.

The HCC IDEAS Pitch Competition for Spring 2017 is a platform for any HCC student to share their creative ideas and social innovations.

  • First Prize: $1000
  • Second Prize: $500
  • Third Prize: $250
  • 2 Honorable Mentions

The competition is designed to explore innovative approaches to answering pressing societal needs and to spark an atmosphere of social dialogue and community.. Students must complete a simple application and upload a two-three minute video on YouTube (include link on application) that addresses one of the categories listed below:

Categories

  1. Education & Skills: investing in sustainable workforce for today and tomorrow.
  2. Alleviating Poverty: issues related to improving income inequity and cost of living.
  3. Economic Advancement: job creation, entrepreneurship, and financial literarcy.
  4. Community Wellbeing: access to parks, Transportation, health, and nutrition.
  5. Technology: new tools and applications to help resolve a pressing issue.

HCC Pitch Competition opens March 10th and closes May 21st, 2017 (Extended from April 21st)

Competition Finalist Presentation and Awards Ceremony will be held on Friday, May 26, 2017 (from 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.) at 3100 Main St. Houston Texas 77002

The goal of the HCC Pitch Competition is to provide financial and institutional support for HCC students who want to make an impact on the world. HCC is eager to harness the creativity and passion of its unique student body to catalyze social change.

There are two forms that can be accessed using the following link: one (1st one) is to register for the competition and the other (second one) is to register for a training session.  Training sessions are not required, but recommended to take part in the competition and attending training sessions.
